First-Year Council Application

First-Year Council (or FYC) is the University of Alberta Students' Union's flagship leadership opportunity for incoming students: a place to get involved from day one, build real skills, and help shape the student experience at the U of A. To read more about FYC, please go to uasu.ca/fyc!

This application form has only two sections:

First we will ask some questions about you to confirm your eligibility and be able to reach out to you with the result of your application.
Then we will ask you to provide your resume and a short statement of interest. The statement is 250 words or less asking you what interested you in First-Year Council, what experiences you would bring to it and what you hope to gain from your time in it.

After the UASU Executive Committee selects the members of First-Year Council, you will be notified whether you were selected or not in late-September/early-October.

Whether you are selected or not, thank you for being interested in getting involved, we appreciate your excitement towards making a difference during your degree from your first few days on campus!
